Bed Time

Here's a series of Bed time shots from last week. My boys are so handsome I am compelled to post their pictures on the internet.

"Hey Mom, you have that black thing again, can't a boy get any privacy?"

"I love these puppies, do you see what they're eating!"

My husband, I am a lucky girl!

Ok, I think they've had enough for one night.

Fish Lips

Ethan can make fish lips! And I took pictures! I've been trying to catch those cute, little lips in action and I finally, accidentally, succeeded.

We've been in the work groove this week, and trying to avoid sweating to much.  Everyday is pretty similar, I get home, Ethan and Mom get some play time, Wes gets home, eat dinner, maybe do one thing, get ready for bed, go to bed. It's full of joy, and yet I am still asking the Lord to give me a heart that is content with this day, and seeks after what the Holy Spirit is doing. Ok, enough from me, on to the promised fish lips.

Hooray for "sport" mode. I wish I had more time to learn this camera! It does help if you don't loose the instruction manual, just a suggestion :)

P.S. Where do you get pictures printed? I tried CVS and was unhappy with their quality, and shutter fly takes about 10 days.

Focus

Ethan and I got to skype with Karen today! After that we had a photo session practice for his birthday. I don't think that Ethan received his invite because he seemed blithely unaware that I was attempting to take his picture. This boy has focus, he was very intent on playing with his toys. Even though we participated in separate activities we had a great time and enjoyed our sunny late afternoon.

He was staring at the lamp, I liked the way the light landed on him, although the glare in the upper left corner is a little too bright!

Then he got down and focused on shaking the lamp.

Playing with his toys, I just made him that button string :)

He finally looked at me! Wow, I must be special.

He's recently starting making the "fish lips" face, hopefully I will catch a picture!

Let's Have Lunch!

Here's a glimpse of Saturday lunch at our place. Ethan had some green smoothie, not his favorite, and bread. He loves bread, and most carbs, at least he comes by it naturally :)

11 months is so much fun, it may sound cliche but this stage, like all of the ones before it, is my current favorite. We did have one scare today because he was able to sneak up a few stairs unobserved and then fell to the bottom. We are thanking Jesus that he only has a little bump on his head!

Camera note: I shot these in manual mode, I'm learning! My challenge today was not washing Ethan out, still learning aperture.

In the beginning...

My first blog post since my failed attempt in 2009 to be a deployment blogger! Back then I wanted every post to be perfect, and meaningful, they weren't, I quit.
I am attempting to blog again, this time to have a catalog of memories of my little Ethan, and I hope, to see improvement as I learn to use my camera.  This time I hold myself to no standard except actually posting, so please forgive me if things aren't perfect, or inspiring.

Here are my favorites from the first days of DSLR ownership. I am shooting in the auto mode, because I'm not even sure what all of the buttons do, and I am just using iphoto to store them. I still think they're awesome because of a certain little fellow who has a smile that lights up my world.

Enjoy!

So happy!

Flirting

Loves spoons, good natural light in this spot.

Bed Head!!

This boy loves his ball.
